What's New with RightFax 8.7?
RightFax is the proven market leader in enterprise fax and
e-document delivery solutions. RightFax 8.7 extends market-leading
capabilities with enhanced features to enable simplified
administration and add more monitoring and secure document delivery
options. RightFax 8.7 also broadens functionality with integrations
to leading messaging, workflow and multifunction devices. These
flexible enhancements will help organizations improve efficiency,
streamline business information delivery and reduce costs by
integrating and automating the flow of a full range of fax, paper
and electronic documents and data..
RightFax Server enhancements - RightFax administrators and
users will benefit greatly from the variety of enhancements made to
the RightFax server in version 8.7. RightFax 8.7 is now certified
on Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard and Enterprise Server. This
means that RightFax administrators can be assured that the product
has been completely tested and certified on the most current
supported Windows operating system.
The RightFax Enterprise Server also includes new alerting and
monitoring capabilities that provide enterprises flexible and
comprehensive options for monitoring RightFax servers, databases and
gateways. Create and monitor over 100 individual statistics
simultaneously for greater reliability, faster response times and
shorter downtimes. RightFax 8.7 message transports include:
• SMTP
• Windows NT Network broadcast (Windows Messenger Service)
• Launch a program (a batch file or other process)
• SMS support for Pager Alerts and Notifications (New!)
RightFax Email Gateway enhancements - Lotus Notes 6.5
Integration and Gateway - RightFax 8.7 includes enhancements to the
optional RightFax Gateway for IBM Lotus Notes, which now supports
IBM Lotus Notes/Domino version 6.0 and 6.5. It has also been
re-architected to make it easier to deploy, support and maintain.
RightFax Gateway for IBM Lotus Notes has been localized to support
six new languages and includes support for fax viewing from iNotes.
RightFax Universal Information Exchange (UIX) enhancements -
SMS can be used within RightFax UIX as part of the facsimile command
language (FCL). New FCL commands have been developed that allow an
SMS message to be generated from an automated document delivery
scenario. RightFax 8.7 also introduces a new Do Not Dial .DLL
process by which you can develop your own custom software to verify
critical fax numbers that you may want to prevent from being dialed.
This may help with anti-spam measures, ensure privacy, eliminate
accidental wrong number dialing, and enhance security.
RightFax 8.7 also includes client enhancements that allow users the
ability to select whether or not they want auto scaling and the
FaxUtil client application now includes a new indicator flag within
a sixth column of the main dialogue box. In addition, enhancements
in RightFax 8.7 support for Xerox Multi-Function Products (MFPs)
include PDF File Support, JPG File Support, and Color and gray-scale
TIF files. RightFax 8.7 also provides four new user templates that
allow walk up users and administrators to access RightFax
functionality, directly from the Xerox device.
