RightFax 9.3 and Office 2007
RightFax 9.3 has added support for Microsoft Office 2007 in their latest Feature Pack update (Feature Pack 2). With this added support, there are a few items that must be setup to ensure the server is ready for the new version.

Once Office 2007 is installed on the RightFax server, each coversheet from the RightFax\FCS directory must be opened. Choose close when the “Show Repairs” dialog box is presented. If this is not completed, any outbound fax set to use a .DOC coversheet will fail conversion. Also, when sending an outbound fax with a .DOCX file attachment, the conversion process will fail. Save the document as a .DOC (Word 97-2003) document and resend. This does not apply to faxes that are sent via the RightFax Fax Printer, only faxes that have a Word document attached.

Captaris® RightFax® Connector for MS SharePoint 07 and Captaris Single Click Entry

Are you looking for a way to import document images into MS SharePoint Server 2007? Do you want to OCR the metadata off the document image to populate line of business applications? Since a captured image is typically the start of a business process needing automation, Captaris easily enables automatic import of document images sent from MFPs, scanners and fax. Images imported from Captaris automatically populate configured SharePoint libraries so users can select files for additional business processes using OCR and data workflow systems.

Key features:

Capture images into any existing or new SharePoint document library for edit and manipulation
Receive document images from MFPs, scanners and fax
Automated routing between Captaris image delivery and SharePoint document libraries
Import, manage, create and send documents and image metadata directly within SharePoint Server 2007
Upload documents and images from network to SharePoint libraries for automated document-centric Processes
Automate Scheduling Services for image import, cleanup and tracking

Find out how you can leverage your RightFax and SharePoint investments while obtaining the information off the document image to share with the enterprise.

Readers Choose Captaris RightFax As Preferred Exchange Fax Connector

Captaris RightFax recently won the Exchange Fax Connectors category of the MSExchange.org Readers’ Choice Awards. RightFax was chosen by readers of the publication who are specialists in working with Exchange solutions. “Our Readers’ Choice Awards give visitors to our site the opportunity to vote for the products they view as the very best in their respective category,” said Sean Buttigieg, MSExchange.org manager. “MSExchange.org users are specialists in their field who encounter various solutions for Exchange Server at the workplace. Their vote serves as a solid peer-to-peer recommendation of the winning product.”

Regular polls are conducted to discover which product is preferred by Exchange administrators in a particular category of third party solutions for Microsoft Exchange Server. The awards draw a huge response per category and are based entirely on the visitors’ votes.

“We are extremely pleased by the recognition given to RightFax by these Microsoft Exchange Server experts,” said Paul Yantus, Captaris executive vice president of marketing and product development. “Captaris products, including RightFax, Alchemy and Workflow, are designed to integrate easily into a Microsoft environment enabling end users to more efficiently manage their business processes.
