Valued CommercePath Customer:
As
a valued Captaris customer and longstanding user of our CommercePath
production faxing product, we would like to inform you of some important
developments with our CommercePath product line.
As
you may recall, in 1999 Captaris introduced RightFax 7.0. With this
product Captaris brought together the production-level faxing capabilities
of CommercePath with the network and desktop faxing capabilities
of the RightFax enterprise fax server product line. Our goal in
bringing together these two industry leading Captaris products was
to provide our customers with the most robust, complete faxing solution
for all your enterprise e-document delivery and receipt needs.
After
incorporating the core CommercePath production faxing technology
with RightFax, we determined that for the long-term, maintaining
parallel product lines for RightFax and CommercePath does not best
service our customers or the product development and support requirements
Captaris believes are necessary to continue to bring you the document
delivery and receipt solutions you have come to expect. As a result,
we would like to inform you of our decision to discontinue the CommercePath
2.5x product line.
This
strategic decision enables us to focus our resources so that our
product mix remains streamlined, allowing us to continue to provide
superior support and leverage leading technologies such as XML and
Java moving forward with the RightFax product line.
The
end-of-life date is March 15, 2001, with a support period that will
expire on December 31, 2002. To assist our valued customers, we
will offer migration paths over the next many months for migrations
from CommercePath to the RightFax production solution. In this regard,
we believe that there are numerous methods in which we can assure
a successful migration to our industry-leading RightFax production
systems.
We
understand that you rely on CommercePath production faxing technology
for your business-critical document exchange needs and have made
a considerable investment in time and resources with CommercePath
and we appreciate the partnership with you over the years. Going
forward, we can assure you that our RightFax production systems,
which are based on the CommercePath Facsimile Command Language (FCL),
will continue to evolve, grow, and be supported as a key, principal
product from Captaris.

of RightFax (v.8.5), please contact your Captaris RightFax reseller
at your earliest convenience. We look forward to working with you
to assist with your migration from CommercePath to RightFax and
to continue bringing you cost-effective, industry-leading document
delivery and receipt solutions that will take you well into the
21st century.
